KAREN DAWN, FOUNDER, DAWNWATCH MEDIA ADVOCACY FOR ANIMALS

Karen Dawn runs the animal advocacy media watch DawnWatch.com. She grew up in Australia and worked as a news researcher and writer for various Australian publications and on a national television news show.

Karen has hosted animal issues talk shows on KPFT and KPFK, in Houston and Los Angeles. Her opinion pieces have appeared in The Washington Post, the Los Angeles Times, New York's Newsday and the UK Guardian and she has been featured in the New York Times.

She is a contributor to In Defense of Animals: The Second Wave, edited by Peter Singer.
