Katie Amrhein

This month, we are honored to recognize an outstanding activist for farmed animals, Katie Amrhein. Katie served as our July Intern, volunteering full-time for our rescue, education, and advocacy efforts. Whether she was mucking barns, conducting tours, or stuffing envelopes, Katie approached each and every job with a smile and "can do" attitude, often working past her scheduled hours to get the job done. While in school, Katie completed a course entitled "Animal Rights" at UC-Davis, and afterwards, she wanted to become more knowledgeable on the issues, and learn effective ways to educate the public about the plight of animals used for food production. Fortunately, Katie chose Animal Acres as her learning experience! Katie is now back in school for the fall semester, but she promised to spend her holiday breaks with us whenever she can. Thank you Katie, for caring so much, and doing so much, for our farmed animal friends.
